The Soul Savers series by Kristie Cook is the book to look out for. This series is about Alexis Ames and how her strange life becomes so much more than what she intended it to be. The book starts off with Alexis at the age of 19 and she's pretty much a loner with her mom Sophia being her only and best friend. Alexis knows that her and her mom are different somehow, with Alexis healing quickly and having super strength when angry and her mom not aging causing them to have to move every few years with little to no notice. To start their life anew again, Alexis and her mom move to Florida where Alexis will be attending college, this is the only move that was actually planned, and since her mom looks so young, they pass Sophia off as Alexis's sister. Once Alexis starts college she meets a handsome young man named Tristan that seems to be enamored by her. Alexis doesn't understand why such a gorgeous guy is interested in her and is skeptical because she has a sixth sense that tells her if someone is good or evil and she really can't get a solid read on him but knows that he is primarily good and takes a chance and starts spending time with him. Once their friendship starts growing into something more Alexis decides to introduce Tristan to her mom, and her mom's reaction is anything but cordial. As the book starts to progress we take this journey with Alexis as she finds out who her and her mom really off and also what secretsTristan's been hiding and who he really is. Also after the first book we fast forward into the future when Alexis is in her late 20's and having somewhat of a difficult time processing everything that's happened in her life. I like the fact that this book does not have a love triangle, it was Tristan in the beginning and is going to be Tristan in the end. I enjoy that the author has them moving from state to state describing how geographically different each state is, The plot is is awesome too, it's pretty much a fight between good vs. evil, and the identity of Alexis's dad makes the fight even more difficult. This series really touches on the importance of having love in your life, especially from your family. I was deciding whether I would like to see this series as a movie or a tv series, but it really doesn't matter, if it was made into a movie or a series I would enjoy both just as equally. With everything that's going on, with the action scenes and the amazing characters, this is a series to remember. So whichever network or studio gets their hands on this book just be prepared for the ratings to go through the roof.
