Hello once again!!!! I have a new book series that you will find interesting enough to watch in the movies. I first read about this author when she wrote The Lux series which is also on my blog and now she has written another great series, and I feel like everything she writes is golden. I'm sure she'll become the Nicholas Sparks of novels, you know how every time Nicholas Sparks writes a book it's immediately turned into a movie, like seriously she's on her way, especially with Obsidian already being optioned for a movie. But, without further a do please check out Jennifer L. Armentrout's book The Dark Element series.

Dark Elements is about 17yr old Layla Shaw, half gargoyle half warden who is considered an outcast in her community because of her mixed heritage. Gargoyles are better known as wardens, they have been made public and humanity just thinks that they exist to stop crime but, actually they have been made public because of the recent demon activity but cannot let that information out since people need to have free will and not basing their decisions on what they can actually see. Layla has been adopted by the wardens at the age of 7 and has no memories before that age. There she has been taught to hate demons and deny that part of herself. She attends regular high school with her friends being non the wiser that she's not actually a human. Layla being part demon has the special ability to see aura's allowing her to recognize how good or evil a person is and allows her to recognize demons also. After school Layla goes tagging which is she goes out looking for demons and with one touch she lights them up, the light is only seen by wardens, so when they go demon hunting at night the demons are easily spotted giving them a one way ticket to hell.

One day after school Layla meets up with her friends Stacey and Sam at the local McDonlads, as they are hanging out she spots a demon and ditches her friends to go after it. Layla follows the demon not realizing the demon has lured her to a dark alley. Realizing this she notices that the demon wasn't a lesser demon like she thought but an upper level demon that she could never defeat, but out of no where another upper level demon comes and saves her life, she runs escaping both demons to meet up with her family's driver and once home she tells her foster brother and fellow warden Zayne that she has more than just brotherly feelings for all about her confrontation with an upper level demon.

At school the next day in Biology class, the demon that saved her last night walks in her class and Layla panics, the demon follows Layla to try to explain that he's not there to hurt her and to warn her that she should stop tagging because demons are actually looking for her. Not sure of what to do Layla tells no one about the handsome upper level demon Roth attending school, afraid of getting pulled out from the only normalcy she has. We come to find out that there is so much demon activity because someone is trying to raise the demon Lilith so Layla teams up with Roth to stop an apending apocalypse. This series has everything you can think of wrapped up in a 3 part series, it has mystery, action, suspense, and some romance. And what's a good teen drama without a love triangle.

The series takes place in Washinton DC. The cha
racters are loveable and the author really does a good job on expanding them from where they were at the beginning to the end of the series. I love the heroine in this story, she is the epitome of I was weak but now I'm strong, she really came into her own woman. Zayne and Roth are what any girl could ever dream of, their the best of both worlds, but of course Layla can only choose one. Please check this out soon, because most likely by the time you finish reading this post, someone would have probably already optioned it for a film.

Until Next time!
