Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire was incredible. In my opinion it is the best love story since the Notebook. This book should definitely be the next love story making a debut in the movies. The story revolves around Abby Abernathy and Travis Maddox. They are both college students and are total opposites. Abby is an all American girl, freshman in college, preppy, safe with a secret past. Travis is a fighter with tattoos and a ladies man that comes from a motherless home with 4 brothers and an alcoholic father. There worlds collide when America, Abby's best friend is dating Sheply which happens to be Travis's cousin and roommate. Of course every girl is attracted to the bad boy and Abby's no exception but, she strays away from his kind, and when he approaches her she turns him down immediately to his astonishment and that only attracts him to her more. Instead of Abby dating Travis, she ends up befriending him, and that's strange to everyone because Travis has never had a platonic relationship with a girl. Since they are friends, Abby starts attending his fights. She ends up making a bet with Travis on one of his fights which causes her to move in with him for a month in his apartment off campus. Travis understands that Abby is just a friend but he is secretly in love with her, but Abby also can't help her attraction to him even though she made it very clear that they are strictly friends. And of course there afraid to let there feelings to be known to one another so they end up making some stupid decisions before finally establishing a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship. Throughout the relationship they have some really high highs and really low lows and you experience every bit of the emotional roller coaster they're on. Abby's secret past comes out which involves her having to save her father and a trip to Vegas, and through her revealing the secrets of her past, you realize that Travis and Abby are more alike that you were led on to believe. I can say you will fall in love with the characters, especially Travis. You watch him mature and its refreshing, because he is a bad boy with player ways that set aside everything for his one true love Abby. You will love Abby too, its just that her guarded ways come off as stubborn and you want to just scream at her, but you understand why she's like that and why she's so guarded, its hard for her to come out of that shell because of the way she grew up. All in all I would describe this story as wild, young, free, and dangerously in love. This story will have you captivated from the beginning to the end. So I suggest get your fingers ready for this page turner, and your sights on the big screens because I'm sure it will be coming soon to a theater near you!!!
