Since we learned all about Fairies in Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse novels, I think there should be a television series about the Fae and I'm sure most of you would agree too, after reading The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins. Amelia has written an extraordinary tale about Synthia Mckenna, a so called witch that is part of a crime fighting association called The Guild, an organization that protects humans from supernatural entities. Synthia hates the Fae because they are the reason her parents are dead and worst of all she has to accept a job that requires working with not only the fae but one of the most powerful of the fae, The Dark Prince, as someone is killing off witches and fae alike. Synthia was put through a test to make sure her skills was what they were looking for and it almost broke her not to mention adding on to the list of countless of other reasons she doesn't like the fae. Ryder is the dark prince and not only is he powerful, he's more than good looking , but also dark, brooding, dominate, and possessive. Synthia and Ryder's relationship is intense to say the least. She hates that she has to work for him and Ryder hates that he has feelings for her, a human of all people. Ryder also realizes Synthia is different from anyone that he has met, she has a little resistance against fae magic. She's also strong, and what I consider an alpha female. She's been trained very well by The Guild and knows how to get in and out of places and assassinate. During the investigation of these murders they do have to set aside their differences to work together to save both of their races. Every single crime scene that they have been to has been a trap thus far, and Ryder has had to save Syn and vice versa from these mishaps. While working together Syn realizes that the Fae might not be as bad as she thinks they are, that you shouldn't judge a race on a couple of bad seeds. When Syn lets her guard down, Ryder has asked her out, one night to let loose and not be so uptight and she obliges not realizing both of their lives will be changed forever. Ryder has set Synthia up to participate in the Wild Hunt, which allows the fae to open up a portal into Faery and chase the humans that they invited into the realm and if they catch you, you belong to them for the night. Once Ryder catches Synthia they have one night of passion and during the time in Faery, the Guild attacks the Fae and Ryder immediately accuses Syn of the attack. Synthia then devises a plan to prove the Guild's innocence and you would think that after that all is well, but after being falsely accused, trying to save the Guild from a war, and trying to solve a murder everything is not what it seems, Synthia's world keeps getting weirder and she finds out that her whole life has been a lie. Amelia has outdone herself. This series is well put together, she makes her characters relatable and the character's pov's come off very well, they synchronize great together, you will also get to know a little about the supporting characters background and would love to see more. The way she described the realm of Faery was detailed and made you feel as though you were experiencing it yourself. I really hope there is a 5th book in this series, as I really want to see what's next a wedding? A war? I hope its not done yet, and seriously I can't wait until it comes to life, and FYI you guys this book is recommended for people 18 and up and with all the sexiness going on I recommend it to go on networks like HBO, Starz, Cinemax, and Showtime.
