A Second Chance

The very first book I am going to blog about is Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. First, I just wanted to say that I absolutely love this book series, but what's interesting is that I went to see the movie before reading the books.  The movie was pretty good when I went to see it, but once I read the books there was no comparison. A lot of details were missing in the movie, and the detailed descriptions about the characters did not hit the nail on the head.

The book is a love story between Rose Hathaway and Dimitri Belikov. I feel like it had the potential to be just as good as Twilight but fell short with the movie.  The book has a lot of action, and is also about friendship, love, and betrayal. Rose goes to great lengths to be with Dimitri, including bringing him back from the dead more or less so to speak. In the movie it felt like you had to read the books first in order to see the movie to get the concept, nothing was really explained. I feel like movies should explain themselves without you having to do too much research on them. For example Hunger Games was a book I didn't read but the movie was awesome and self explanatory. This book series is too good to go to waste and that is why I think it deserves a second chance in the box office, a sequel or remake or at least make it a six part series as a tv movie. There should be a petition to BRING IT BACK to the movie production company. Look at the movies Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached, same movie with same concept just a different title with different characters. So what's one more remake or sequel its worth it if they make it just as good as the books. That's why is deserves a Second Chance!
